Birthday Bonanza Shaker Card

Hello lovelies

Thank you for checking in on my first post.  Be kind, they can only get better from here on in..

When grandsons have a birthday you just gotta make them a special card.

Check out my Birthday Bonanza card.

I used the Bonanza Buddies bundle, from the Mini Catalogue,  to make this sweet shaker card.
Bermuda Bay stands out against the whisper white card base and top layer, with the black layer bringing it all together.
The sequins are from the Metallic Baker's set featured as a free item in the "Sale a Bration" catalogue.
I used the sentiment from the stamp set inside as it was just perfect for my little man.
"I'm glad its your birthday so i can tell you how wonderful you are"
He is turning 12, but i know he will love it.

Here is my recipe.
Birthday Bonanza DSP... I chose theone with the Koala, but you can choose what suits you best.
Card base -whisper white 21cm x 14.9cm folded in half.
Bermuda Bay -1st layer 14.4cm x 10cm
Black -second layer 13.8cm x 9.5cm
Whisper white for third and top layer13.5cm x 9cm
I used 2 layers of Whisper white to create the shaker feature. 1 was complete the second i cut  out a circle using a 6cm circle die. I used the cut out circle with a 5 cm circle die to cut a smaller circle for the sentiment. From Bermuda Bay i cut a 5cm circle, one of the banners from the Bonanza die set and used one of the frames from the Painted Poppies bundle which is in the Mini Catalogue to set the sentiment circle on. I die cut one of the Koalas from the DSP. I also used some clear plastic as my window.(it was from one of hubbies shirt boxes.) You will need to cut 1 piece large enough to cover your cut out on your top layer.
For the most part it is simple layering to construct the card. Attach the clear plastic to cover the cut out on the underside of the top layer,  I used the foam strips which are in the main catalogue to completely surround the under side of the top layer Construct your layers as above, then pop your Bermuda Bay circle in the centre of the third layer making sure that it will show through your prepared cut out on the top layer. Fix the koala to the BB circle. I used liquid glue, so waited a few mins for it to fully set prior to adding my sequence. pop the sequence in the middle of the BB circle and affix the top layer making sure the the cut out layer is well adhered. I used dimensionals around the sides of my top layer so that it was at the same level as the area around the cut out. Attach the trim, the BB frame and the sentiment circle.  I did all my stamping prior to assembly just in case i made a boo boo.  Don't forget to decorate the envelope, i think it gives a little peek as to what might be hiding inside.

Enjoy.
And don't forget you can get all the items i used on this card by clicking on the below link and shopping with me.

  2. Lovely post. The card is a little dark. You might try adding more light when you take the photograph so we can see your work better. Good job.
